I don't know if this helps at all. I have tried to put together a family tree that makes a
little sense, but admittedly is weak on proof. - Glen Nash [gdmnash@ccio.com] 1/99

Scott Vickery at ppvick@micron.net shared in January, 2000 via email: "This is what I have on John Philip, b. 10 Jan. 1734, d. 27 Oct. 1777, & Mary Regina Doerr(Derr), b. 2 Feb. 1735-6, d. 1812. I have them both dying in Mt. Joy, Lancaster co., Pa. I also have an old picture of a church & graveyard where they are supposedly buried - at the bottom of this picture it says St. David's Church, Raddor, Pa. Now I've never been able to find Raddor on a Pa. map though [perhaps Radnor ? - AEM]. Mary Regina's father was John George Doerr (Derr), d. aft 11 Sep. 1754 in Hempfield twp., Lancaster co., Pa. & mother was Mary Catherina (no last name). John P. Albert & Mary R. Doerr's children were
#1 John(Johannes), b. after 1756 in Lancaster co., Pa.; mar. Katherina (Katherine)Rihm.
#2 Catherina(Catharina), b. 11 June 1762 in Lancaster co., Pa., d. Aug 2 or 4 1812; she mar. Peter Schaeffer.
#3 Susanna.

[11679] Robert was a member of Gray's Inn, London - i.e. a barrister. Douglas Richardson wrote in 2006: "I show that a Mary, wife of Robert Nelson, of St. Margaret's Westminster, gentleman, was suspected of being a papist in 1678 [Reference: Jeaffreson, Middlesex County Records, 4 (1892): 112]. I believe this is probably Mary Temple, wife of Robert Nelson, Esq. If so, I doubt that Mary (Temple) Nelson died in 1669, as stated in Mr. Johnson's book. All the same, I learned a long time ago that one has to be extremely careful identifying people in London records, as there are often multiple individuals with the same wive's names living at the same time in London. As such, Mr. Johnson could well be right that Mary (Temple) Nelson died in 1669. If so, then the Mary Nelson who was a suspected papist in 1678 would obviously be a different woman. Mr. Johnson is correct in stating that there is a will for a Robert Nelson, Esq., of St. Anne's, Westminster, Middlesex dated September 1696, probated 4 August 1698. Checking online databases, it appears that this man is generally thought to be the father of the immigrant, John Nelson. The probate act book, however, states that Robert Nelson was a resident of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Middlesex. If so, this Robert Nelson was probably living in St. Anne's in 1696, when he made his will, and living in St. Martin-in-the-Fields in 1698 when he died. The testator names his wife, Susan (not Susanna), and his mother, Helen Nelson. No children are named in the will. In a short codicil, he mentions of judgement of £1200 "from my son," whose name is not given. Also, it is unclear if the mother, Helen Nelson, was living at the date of this will. The testator mentions that he was heir at law to a house in Long Acre in Middlesex, which might well have belonged to his mother. It's possible that Mr. Johnson is correct that this Robert Nelson is the father of the immigrant, John Nelson, of Boston, Massachusetts. But, if so, it is strange that Robert Nelson is not mentioned in the will of his other son, Temple Nelson, proved in 1671. Temple Nelson's will mentions only his sister, Margaret Nelson, his kinsman, John Fiennes, Esq. (whose mother was a Temple), and Thomas Fiennes son of his kinsman, John Fiennes. I have yet to determine how or why Margaret Nelson, daughter of Robert and sister of Temple, came to Virginia and married Rev. Thomas Teackle, of Accomack County, Virginia. However, I note among her descendants there is a Temple Nelson Robins, which name is highly suggestive. There was supposedly a Provis Nelson who resided in early Accomack County. This individual is identified in some databases as the brother of Robert Nelson who married Mary Temple. If so, then Margaret (Nelson) Teackle may have come to Virginia to live with her uncle's family."
[18462] Sarah is daughter of Samuel Edward Umholtz and Elizabeth Herner. The 1850 federal census in Lykens Twp., Dauphin Co., PA lists her in this family which is next door to the Daniel Ritzman family - father Samuel is age 36 and a farmer, and his wife Elizabeth is age 30.

[51497] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 10 November 2015": "Anacortes, Wash. - Direct descendant of 1621 colonists in Maine, Virginia Lewis was a beauty queen who made others shine. Virginia Olive Lewis was one of 21 children born to Mabel (Strout) Whalen and Cecil L. Whalen, one in a direct line that began with the Strout family arriving from Germany in 1621. Virginia was a spirited and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a natural beauty. In 1947, she won the Apple Blossom Queen contest in Bath, Maine, and later went on to become a cosmetologist in Seattle, where wealthy clientele waited days for an opening with the saucy and kind-hearted Virginia at Bon Marche and Grosvenor House in Seattle during their glamorous 1960s heydays. She passed away on Aug. 3, 2015, in Anacortes, Wash., at the age of 86. Born on March 19, 1929, Virginia attended school in Sullivan and married John Lewis (87) on April 13, 1946, at Elm Street Baptist Church in Bath, Maine. In 1956, John, Virginia and their two children moved to Seattle, Wash., where Virginia, a 1950s devotee of Hollywood elegance and Marilyn Monroe, and an independent woman, devoted herself to a new career path. Graduating from West Seattle Beauty College in the 1960s, she was selected to work with the famed Vidal Sassoon at a special show in Seattle. Her loyal clientele spanned both the East and the West Coast. Virginia worked from the age of 14 to well into her 70s. After 40 years as a cosmetologist, Virginia and her husband of 70 years retired in 1989 and began wintering in Anacortes and summering in Maine. Aside from her husband, Virginia was greatly loved by many family members and dear friends, on both the West and East Coast. Her immediate survivors include her daughter Gretchen Jankauskas-Stewart (husband Douglas Stewart) of Shelton, Wash.; her son Bruce A. Lewis (wife Teresa Kasch-Lewis) of Anacortes; granddaughter Jessica Blischke of Bend, Ore.; granddaughter Jennille Jankauskas of Bellevue, Wash.; grandson Joseph Lewis of Burlington, Wash.; grandson John Lewis of Anacortes; and granddaughter Ashley Lewis stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. She also leaves six great-grandchildren."
