[2481] Cenred's son Ine reigned as King of the West Saxons 688-726, abdicated, and died in Rome in 728; Ine was succeeded by his brother-in-law Ethelheard (reigned 726-740). Cenred also had Cwenburgh (Abbess of Wimborne) and Cuthburh (foundress of Wimborne Abbey; m. Aldfrid, King of Northumbria, 685-705). For Cenred and his ancestors, see The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. His genealogy is on the Web at http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/ancient/ms/saxons03.htm. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Wessex_family_tree.
