He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Giles of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Webber of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. . . . Burial will be in the family lot at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth."

Farnham (1860- ), Helen Elizabeth Farnham (1860-1956), Julia Ella Farnham (1863-1956), Orrin S. Farnham (1867-1943) & William Holmes Farham. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 11 December 1918," p. 10: "The death of Capt. Gershom Farnham occurred on Tuesday night at the residence of his son, A. L. Farnham, 71 Fifth street, where he had made his home for the past year. Capt. Farnham was in his 86th year and practically all his life was spent in West Brooksville. In his early days he went to sea, retiring many years ago. He was deacon of the Congregational church and held In the highest esteem In the community in which he had lived to long. He survived his wife about 20 years. He leaves four sons and one daughter - Alger L., Orrln S., of Bangor; Walter of Bayonne, N. J James S., of South Portland, and Mrs. Alec Snow of Belfast."
