[902] Humphrey Bradstreet emigrated from Co. Sussex in England; he departed Ipswich (England) on the Ship Elizabeth in April, 1634 to Massachusetts with wife and four children [(H)annah, John, Martha and Mary]. In October, 1635 the town of Ipswich granted 80 acres to Humphrey; he added 50 more. On 02 Sept 1635 he became Deputy to the General Court from Ipswich. Comments in "Genealogical Research in England" following extracts of Bradstreet wills in Suffolk: "The will of John Bradstreet of Capel, dated 1610, mentions a nephew Humphrey Bradstreet, probably the emigrant Humphrey Bradstreet, aged 40, who came in 1634 from Ipswich...with his wife Bridget and children.... It will be remembered that Isaac Mixer and his family, who came in the same ship, were also from Capel (Register, vol. 63, p. 277). I believe that John of Capel, the testator of 1610, and his brother Thomas (probably father of Humphrey) to be the sons of that name born to Humfrey Bradstreet of Gislingham in 1568 and 1571... .- E.F. ...It seems unlikely...that John of Capel, who died in 1610, was identical with John, born in 1571, the son of Humphrey of Gislingham. Capel, Bently, and Wenham are adjacent parishes in Suffolk, about five miles southwest of Ipswich, and Gislingham is some thirty miles north of them. A Robert Bradstreet was taxed in Capel, and a Henry Bradstreet in Bentley, in Suffolk Subsidy of 1568, and it is likely that one of these, probably Robert, was the father of John of Capel, the testator of 1610. ...The Suffolk Subsidy of 1327 has but three mentions of Bradstreet in the whole county: Roger de Bradestret of Combs, Hugo de Brastrete of Great Finborough, and William de Brakstrete of Creeting. These three parishes are contiguous and adjacent to Buxhall, which is in the centre of Suffolk and just half way between Gislingham and Capel. It therefore seems likely that the Bradstreet family originated near Buxhall, and that in the fifteenth century branches spread north some fifteen miles to Gislingham and south an equal distance to Capel. - J.G.Bartlett." [29144] Christian's obituary in The Herald of Truth: "Christian B., son of Benjamin and Mary Hursh Brenneman, was born in Wayne Co., O., April 17, 1842, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sohpia Shenk, near Elida, Ohio, Oct. 21, 1927; aged 85 y. 6 m. 4 d. He was baptized and received in the Mennonite Church in 1863 by bishop Abraham Rohrer. On June 2, 1863, he was married to Susanna Brenneman of Allen Co., O., with whom he lived in matrimony for 61 years, she having preceded him in death August 15, 1924. To this union were born three daughters --Sophia E. (married to Isaac Shenk), Lydia M. (deceased), and Mary C. (Married to Charles Brenneman). Besides his two daughters he leaves two brothers (Adam and Abraham) and two sisters (Mrs. Abraham Huntsburger and Mrs. David Hilty). He also leaves seventeen grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren. Bro. Brenneman moved to Allen Co., Ohio, in the fall of 1868. In Jan. 1871, he was ordained to the ministry at the Sherrick (now Salem) church near Elida, Ohio, by Bishop George Brenneman. In this calling he served the Church faithfully as long as health permitted. He was a pioneer in evangelistic efforts in the Mennonite Church, traveling extensively in that work, and doubtless many people in many parts of the church cherish the fond recollection that thru his untiring efforts, and the mighty power of God accompanying his mighty voice, they were led to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. He was much concerned about the welfare of the Church, and labored earnestly that the Church might remain true to the faith of our fathers and be kept free from the entanglements of worldliness in all its forms. Our departed brother bore his last illness with patience and resignation and repeatedly expressed his desire to go home. The funeral was held at the Salem Church on the afternoon of Oct. 23. Prehaps only twice in the history of the Salem Church did a larger number of people assemble at that place, and witness the laying to rest of a body in the Salem Cemetery. Services were conducted by Geo. Ross, and assisted by G. H. Brunk, P. E. Brunk, J. B. Smith and David Good (home ministers) and S. G. Shenk of Continental, Ohio, and Andrew Shenk of Oronogo, Mo."

[44920] An unverified Wise Family Tree in 2019 in Ancestry.com offers: When Jacob Fauber was born on December 3, 1749, in Bavaria, Germany, his father, Johann, was 26 and his mother, Anna, was 21. He married Mary Ann Funk in 1785 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They had four children during their marriage. He died on March 12, 1838, in Toms Brook, Virginia, having lived a long life of 88 years. Mary Ann Funk was born in 1757 in Germany. . . . . She died in 1830 in Shenandoah, Virginia, at the age of 73.

She was born in Hobokin, N.J., June 12, 1920, the daughter of leland M. and Muriel P. (Ellingwood) Higgins. Eloise and her husband operated Vu-Akers Dairy Farm for 30 years. Later they owned and operated Goss Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Bangor Women's Club and the Jonathan Hunt Chapter No. 9 OES of Hermon. Surviving are three sons, Thomas O. Goss or Glenbum, Gary L. Goss of York, Leland B. Goss of Greenville, S.C.; a special uncle who was raised as a son, Rodney Higgins of Evansville, Ind.; six grandchildren, Tammi, Kelly, Christy, Benjamin, Rachael, Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Higgins and Leland 'Red' Higgins."
