He was born in Kenduskeag, Aug. 26, 1913, the son of LeRoy C. and Addie H. (Phillips) Goss. He was employed by the Eastern State Farmers Exchange (now Agway) for several years. Owen was a well known dairy farmer in Hermon for many years and an agent for the Patrons Oxford Insurance Co. of Auburn, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Kenduskeag Lodge No. 137 A.F. A.M. of Kenduskeag; an honorary member of Lynde Lodge No. 174 A.F. A.M. of Hermon, the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, Anah Temple Shrine and the Jonathan Hunt Chapter O.E.S. of Hermon. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Eloise M. (Higgins) Goss of Hermon, are three sons, Thomas O. Goss of Carmel, Gary L. Goss of York, Leland B. Goss of Charlotte, N.C.; a special uncle, Rodney T. Higgins of Evansville, six grandchildren, Tammi, Kelly, Christy, Benjamin, Rachael and Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany; two brothers, Leon E. Goss of Levant, Ralph Goss of one sister, Ruth Jenness of Bangor; several special nieces and nephews."
