"Brillharts in America," page 132: "Samuel, son of John Brillhart, of Holland , was one of the three brothers who came to America with the immigrants already referred to earlier in the history. Samuel was born in Holland in 1724 and was united in marriage to Esther Smidt in 1743. To them was born six children: Esther; Joseph; Samuel; David; Jacob and Abraham." - page 22: " Samuel Brillhart, who helped build the Mennonite Church, located a few miles from the present town of Hanover in 1746, was a member and minister of that denomination and helped to care for his people and traveled many miles to preach to little flocks of the like faith, scattered in the colonies of Lancaster and Chester counties." <

Esther was born in 1725, in Reusel, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands. They had 7 children: Esther Brillhart , Jacob Brillhart and 5 other children ."

He was married to Mary Elizabeth Frederick, Jan. 7, 1875 and the couple had 3 sons. "Obituary" Richland County Leader. Apr. 12, 1923-Vol. 2, No. 13: Funeral services were held from the Christian church Sunday afternoon for the late William S. Charles, age 64 years, who died Apr. 5 as a result of the injuries during a recent accident. Rev. Zackman, of Butler, was in charge and burial was made in the Bellville Cemetery. Mr. Charles was a life long resident of Richland county and for a number of years past, had lived in Bellville. He is survived by the wife and two sons, Ora of Mansfield and Lloyd of Butlter."
