[16914] Mary's obituary: "Clifton - Mary J. Bragg, 96, died peacefully on January 26, 2017, at her residence of the past 75 years. She was born March 16, 1920, in Mariaville, the daughter of Ralph M. and Mattie L. (Frost) Foster. Mary graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1938. She married Robert J. Bragg, in 1940, and together they shared 43 years. Mary was a wonderful mother and homemaker and she overflowed with tremendous pride, joy and love for her family. Mary was an active member of the Clifton United Baptist Church, the Clifton Historical Society and several other organizations. She was one of the founding members of the Clifton Library. She was well known for her baking, always keeping her cookie jar full and providing food for community functions. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Robert; 10 siblings; and a son-in-law, David Kerns. Surviving are sons, Robert Bragg Jr. and wife, Judy, Ronald Bragg and wife, Beverly, Larry Bragg and wife, Bonnie; a daughter, Shirley Kerns; grandchildren, Peggy Bell, Becky Smart, Ron Bragg Jr., Randy Bragg, Amy Brooks, Tom Read, Debbie Kelley, Kim Negoro, David Kerns Jr. and Kristy Kerns; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Barbara Scott and Marlene Howard; a brother, Norman Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews."

Februar 1506 auf dem Schloss in Stolberg als Tochter des regierenden Grafen Botho zu Stolberg und Anna von Eppstein-Königstein geboren. Bis zum Alter von etwa 13 Jahren wächst sie hier und in Wernigerode auf. Anschließend finden wir sie am Hofe ihres selbst kinderlos gebliebenen Onkels in Königstein (Taunus). Dort wird sie mit 14 Jahren dem Grafen Philipp II. von Hanau-Münzenberg versprochen, den sie 1523 heiratet und mit dem sie 5 Kinder hat. Die Ehe ist jedoch von kurzer Dauer, da Philipp 1529 verstirbt. Der zur selben Zeit verwitwete Graf Wilhelm von Nassau-Dillenburg, ein Freund der Familie und Vormund ihrer Kinder, nimmt sie am 20. September 1531 zu seiner zweiten Frau. Mit ihm hat sie weitere fünf Söhne und sechs Töchter. Über die beiden ältesten Söhne, Prinz Wilhelm I. und Graf Johann VI., werden sie zu Stammeltern der älteren und jüngeren Linie des Hauses Oranien. Wilhelm wird als der Befreier der Niederlande von der spanischen Herrschaft in die Geschichte eingehen, als "Vater des Vaterlandes". Drei seiner Brüder fallen im Kampf gegen die Spanier, er selbst wird 1584 ermordet. Juliana erreicht ein für die damalige Zeit hohes Alter.
