[1875] Childeric I was established around Tournai with his tribe and fought against the Visigoths with the Roman General Odoacer and with him intercepted a band of Alamanni. He ruled the Salic Franks 458-481; his kingdom included Siene, Marne, Meuse, Moselle, Treves, Angers and Orleans. In 1653 his tomb was discovered at Tournai. He broke with Rome and was succeeded by his son Clovis. Childeric's tribe had come to the fertile valleys of the Somme and the Oise rivers to find new lands to farm. [6786] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 27 April 1966, p. 23: "Milo - Dr Wallace S. Houston, 66, who had been a practicing dentist at Milo for 40 years, died Tuesday morning at a Bangor hospital. He was born at Gardiner July 13, 1899, the son of William H. and Bertha Jane Houston. He was graduated from Maine Central Institute, attended Bowdoin College and was a cum laude graduate of Tufts Dental School. Dr. Houston was a member of Piscataquis Lodge of Masons, Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor, American Legion, and was a past president of the Eastern Maine Dental Society. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Esther (Mace) Houston; two daughters, Jane Landry of East Hartford, Conn. and Janice Mountain of Bangor; two sons, William M. Houston of Bangor and Wallace S. Houslon, Jr. of Brewer; a sister, Mrs. Vera H. Wyman of Cohasett, Mass. and 11 grandchildren," Wallace held the DMD degree. The 11 April 1940 federal census in Milo, Piscataquis Co., ME lists Wallace and his family; he is a dentist with his own office; he and wife Esther are age 40; their children are Jane (age 15), William M. (12), Wallace S., Jr. (11) and Janice (6); also in the household is Elsie M. Mayo (age 26, "hired hand").
[7433] "The Sentinel [Carlisle, Pennsylvania], 1 September 1992," p. 10: "Genevieve W. 'Gennie' Briner, 72, of 120 Parker St., Carlisle, died this morning in her home. Born June 19, 1920, in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late John and Jane Kendall Wright. She was a graduate of Shippensburg High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle. Surviving are her husband, George L. Briner; one daughter, Elizabeth B. Rankin of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one brother, James A. Wright of El Paso, Texas; and two grandchildren."
