[47708] "Salisbury Evening Post [Salisbury, North Carolina], 26 October 1914," p. 3: "Mr. Otis Ewers, aged 81 years, died at his home, 315 South Lee street, last night at 12 o'clock of tuberculosis. Deceased leaves a wife and one child. He was a blacksmith in the employ of the Southern at its Spencer shops, and came to Salisbury from Virginia. The funeral will take place from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock and the interment will be in Chestnut Hill cemetery. Rev. Dr. M. M. Kinard pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, will officiate and the members of the blacksmiths' union will attend in a body."
