[1119] Robert m. Katherine _____; Katherine was widow of Thomas Lees at her marriage to Robert Hinckley. Robert's will is dated 5 April 1605; he was buried 27 March 1606. He is "of Tenterden, co. Kent." According to Hugh A. Johnson's "Hinckley Genealogy, p. 20, Robert m. (1) Elizabeth ______ who died 02-Nov-1574, and they had Thomas (1562), Clement (1570) and Isaac (1571) at Harrietsham, co. Kent; all three sons lived to maturity. With Katherine, Robert had eight known children, listed in "Hinckley Heritage...," E. Charles Hinckley, pp. 7-8. [Note: "Hinckley Heritage..." is not reliable. The Rev'd Fr. R. J. Goode wrote 13 Dec 1996: "Our Hinckleys appear to have come from Lenham where the church is St. Mary's . . . At some point the family moved next door to Harrietsham. That is where Elder Samuel was from as was his father, Robert. Robert was not connected with Tenterden as far as I know. Robert's father was pretty definitely the John whose death is listed in Harrietsham (1577) for he is listed as 'pater familias' in the Harriestsham register."]
