His family are listed in the 1910 federal census in the city of Ashland, Montgomery Twp., Ashland Co., OH which indicates he is employed by a manufacturing company. Note: His grave marker states he was b. 18 July 1876 and d. 2 Jan 1941. His obituary in the Mansfield (OH) News-Journal 2 Jan 1942, p. 9, reports he was a member of the Ashland United Brethren Church and is survived by his widow, June.

Surviving is his wife, Edna (Legassie) Ross of Levant; two daughters, Dawn Cormier and husband, Jon, and Melissa Bragg and husband, Darren; seven grandchildren, Lisa Ross and fiancé, John Paradis, Jordan Ross, Jonathan Cormier, Daniel Bragg, Emma Cormier, Grace Cormier and Wesley Bragg; great-granddaughter, Serenity Paradis; six brothers, Donald Ross and wife, Nesta, Cecil Ross and wife, Mary, Darrell Ross and wife, Shirley, Ronnie Ross, Melvin Ross and wife, Regina and Gary Ross; four sisters, Bernice Overlock, Virginia Overlock and husband, Rodney, Sandy Turner and Gerry Somers and husband, Jim; brother-in-law, Jim Hamm; sister-in-law, Gertrude Ross; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
