Perkins R.A. Chapter 209, and a life member of the New Kingstown Fire Company and the DAV. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joyce A. Shunk Briner; three sons, Gifford L. of Mechanicsburg, John M. and Robert D., both of Carlisle; two daughters, Jane Price of Carlisle and Marilyn Schreffler of Mechanicsburg; a brother, David R. of New Germantown; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Market St., Williamstown. She had been ill for several years. Born in Schuylkill County, May 23, 1882, Mrs. Geist was a daughter of Edward and Amanda Bixler Updegrave. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lucy Esterline, Williamstown; one son, James T. Geist, Tower City; eight grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon from J. Franklin Lyons Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Zimmerman, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Methodist Cemetery, Williamstown."
