She was born at Sutton Island April 25, 1901, daughter of Leslie and Martha (Bunker) Bunker. She attended schools in Southwest Harbor, Castine Normal School and Boston University. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Southwest Harbor, a member of Non Pariel Chapter of OES of Danforth, and she had served many years as secretary of the organization. She was a member of Grand Lake Grange; Aroostook and Penobscot Pomona Grange; State and National Grange. She also served on the Weston school board for two terms and prior to her marriage in 1925 she was principal at Patten Elementary School. She was also a teacher in Weston. She was a member of the Farm Bureau of Danforth and Weston. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Alva A.; three sons, Leslie A. of Bristol, Conn., Capt. Bradley of the U.S. Air Force, Topsham. and Paul of Thomaston, Conn.; six daughters, Mrs. Nathalie Robertson of Manchester, Conn., Mrs. Marilyn Russell of Weston, Mrs. Jean Kelley of Orient, Miss Patricia Irish of Weston, Mrs. Mary Ellen Lee of Houlton and Miss Phyllis Irish of Weston. Also three brothers, Laurance Bunker of Lewistown, Pa., Phillip of Boston and Kenneth of Arlington, Mass.; 22 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews."
