After an investigation into Anne de Beauchamp's estates affirmed that she was the heir and on 2 March 1450 a fresh grant of the title of Warwick was made to her and her husband, Richard Neville, who became the 16th Earl, this time adding provision that her sister, Margaret would inherit if the Nevilles remained childless. Anne and her husband were also confirmed with the office of Chamberlain of the Exchequer, which was part of the earldom of Warwick, on 6 December 1450 and her husband took possession of the office. Her half-sisters and their husbands immediately protested, and in consequence, her husband was removed from the office and the king committed it to temporary custodians until the Exchequer court could determine the rightful owner. 1454 they were re-confirmed with the office. After his death in 1471, she took over as Lady of the Isles. Their daughter, Anne Neville, first married the Prince Edward of Wales, and then Richard III." [831] Theodore I is son-in-law of Alexius III ("Angelus"), q.v.), and was succeeded by his son-in-law John III ("John Ducas Vatatzes") whose son Theodore II (1254-58) assumed the family name Lascaris. Theodore I "scarcely looked the part of a great leader. In body he was very small, moderately dark, with a long beard which was divided at the ends. His eyes differed one from the other, probably indicating that one of them did not focus properly. Looks notwithstanding, Theodore was a brave soldier. As the husband of Anna Angelina, Alexius III's daughter, his claim to the throne was better than that of anyone else available after the fall of Constantinople. He reigned 1206-1222.
