[53805] "The Daily Item [Lynn, Massachusetts]," 17 April 1940, p. 8: "Two brothers Charles Hutchins, 25, 37 Graves road, and George Hutchins, 24, 33 Putnam street, Salem were each sentenced to serve two months in the House of Correction by Judge Reeve in the Lynn District court this forenoon for concealing piano accordions which were leased property. They appealed and furnished bail of $500. Charles bought one of the accordions valued at $190 from Jerome DelCampo, 24 Market street, Feb. 28, on a lease, paying a $3 installment, and he pawned it the same day on Andrew street for $25, it was charged. The next day his brother, George, bought an accordion valued at $210 from the same store and pawned it for $10. Both admitted sufficient evidence to warrant findings of guilty through their counsel, Attorney Henry J. Collins. Charles, who is a WPA worker, was also charged with non-support of his family. He was placed on probation on this complaint and ordered to turn his check over each week to his wife."

[44846] Published in Daily Press from Feb. 3 to Feb. 5, 2017: "Kenneth McDonald Jr., a Hampton native passed away January 31, 2017, after a long illness. He was born in Elizabeth City County, Virginia, to Kenneth McDonald and Helen Morris McDonald on February 5, 1935, in Dixie Hospital. He graduated from Hampton High School in 1952, and then attended Virginia Military Institute, where he participated in cross country and swimming. He graduated in 1956 with a bachelor of science in civil engineering and later became a licensed Civil Engineer. After graduating from VMI, he entered the Army as a 2nd lieutenant. Ken was stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas, Fort Sill in Oklahoma, and Hanau, Germany. He retired from the Army as a Captain in 1963 and went to work with his father at Le-Mac Nurseries, Inc., in Hampton. Le-Mac Nurseries was founded in 1927 by Ken's father and a Frenchman, Jacques Legendre. The nursery at first grew general nursery stock and later specialized in growing evergreen azaleas to be shipped throughout the eastern U.S. to nurseries, garden centers, and florists. Ken took over management of Le-Mac in 1965 when his father died and continued there until his own retirement in 2004. The nursery name was changed to Le-Mac Azaleas in its later years, as its specialty was azaleas and rhododendrons. Ken enjoyed travel and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains and other mountainous areas in the Southeast observing the native azaleas. He was active in many local and national associations including the Virginia Nurserymen's Association (past president), VMI Alumni Peninsula Chapter, American Rhododendron Society (district director), and was also active at the local level in the Middle Atlantic Chapter ARS as president and longtime board member. He was a member of the Colonial Virginia Chapter of the Holly Society of America (past chapter president and board member), Hampton Roads Horticultural Society (past president and board member), the Exchange Club, and served on the Hampton Roads Sanitation District Commission. Gardens of special interest are the Sandra and Kenneth McDonald Azalea and Rhododendron Garden at James Madison University's Edith J. Carrier Arboretum in Harrisonburg, VA, and the McDonald Hybrid Azaleas area at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in Norfolk. Ken is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Kibbee McDonald, Ph.D., children Kenneth Allen McDonald (Cheryl) of Smithfield; Amy McDonald Blow (Wes) of Newport News; Leslie Margot Gerber (John) of Berthoud, Colorado; Brian Neil McDonald (Margaret) of Memphis, Tennessee; Scott Douglas Gerber, Ph.D. of Ada, Ohio; granddaughter Isabel Alessandra McDonald, Tennessee; sister Marjorie McDonald Gordon (Bruce), Hawaii."

"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 6 July 2023: "Bangor - Victoreen O'Connor, better known as Vikki, died July 2, 2023. She was born on September 15, 1946, in Winter Harbor, Maine to Stella (Kennerly) Storey and Jesse Storey. The family owned the Acadian Lodge for several years before moving to Bangor, Maine. She graduated from Bangor High School and the University of Maine at Orono, where she received her bachelor's degree and master's degrees in Education.
Vikki worked as a special education teacher at Southern Aroostook High School for over a decade. She raised her family in a farmhouse in Stacyville, Maine with her beloved view of Mt. Katahdin. Vikki lived a life of the mind. She loved to learn, share her ideas, and debate the latest events over a cup of coffee. Her great passions were reading and discussing philosophy, politics, and religion into the wee hours of the morning. She also loved astrology and would make astrological charts for friends and family. Her brilliant mind and lively conversations will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two children, Karen Rockwell and husband, Brent, of Island Falls, Maine, and Sean O'Connor and wife, Roberta, of Salem, Massachusetts; grandchildren Eric Rockwell of Gainesville, Florida and his significant other, Kaitlin Thorp, Cory Rockwell of Mapleton, Maine and fiancee, Cheyenne Unterreiner; and Maya O'Connor and Benjamin O'Connor of Salem, Massachusetts, as well as her nephew, Zachary Lecleire. Vikki was predeceased by her mother, Stella Lecleire; father, Jesse Storey; sister, Sherry Shemwell; brothers, Patrick Storey and Lorin Lecleire; and her grandson, Kevin Michael Rockwell." She is probably the Ella V. shown as a daughter in the houshold of Jesse and Stella in Bangor, Penobscot Co., ME in the 13 April 1950 census.
