He is son of Lendisius, Major-Domo of King Theodoric II. This line is from "Royal Ancestors of Magna Carta Barons," Carr P. Collins, Jr. (Dallas: 1959), pp. 19-20 - there are apparent inconsistencies - compare "Ancestral Roots of Sixty New England Colonists," Frederick L. Weis (Lancaster, Mass.: 1950), which also states (p. 142): "Adalric (or Ethic), obtained the Duchy of Alsace, 662; d. He had been sent there in the Indian War and liked the country so well that he settled there. His wife's sister, Mary was taken in 1692 by the Indians at the age of 5 during the York Massacre. She was subsequently raised by the French. Their father and grandfather were prominent citizens of York. He appeared in court in 1713 to answer to the charges of fornication and was given a choice of seven stripes on the naked back or a fine. Elizabeth was to appear also with the same charges and choices. Ralph continued to acquire land in York. In 1735 Joseph Holt granted a quarter acre of land to Ralph and 5 others for use of a burying place for persons deceased. He was one of the original proprietors of Lebanon Maine when the plan for the settlement was drawn up in 1733."
