Mr Leach was veteran of World War I having been decorated for bravery and held the rank of sergeant at the close of the war. For some years he was associated with his father, the late Senator Burke Leach, as proprietor of a shoe store here, and for the past 15 years he operated a taxi-cab. He was a member of the Masonic orders and the Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife, Mae, one brother, Lloyd Leach of Bucksport; and five sisters, Mrs. Esther Hutchings and Miss Elizabeth Leach of Bucksport, Mrs. Alice Follio of North Abington, Mass., Mrs. Una Perry of Portland and Mrs. Guida Merriam of Canton, Mass."

He held Hartley Mauditt in Portchester in Hampshire in 1086 as a result of his service as Chamberlain of the Treasury, and also held Fyfield in Hampshire. He had a son, Robert, who apparently died in the wreck of the White Ship in 1120 without a heir.
