[1163] She and Richard sailed on the same ship as the Rev. Francis Higginson of Claybrook, Leicestershire, who was ejected from his "living" for nonconfirmity and came to serve a Salem, MA church at an annual salary of L30 - sailing 25 April 1629, arriving 29 June. Higginson wrote an account of the voyage and in 1630 published "New England's Plantation..." describing the colony. Hugh Casement states she is daughter of Thomas Langley and Ann _____ and that she m. (2) John Knight, a widower. "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1633" reports: "On 10 April 1668 Anne Knight deeded eighty acres at Royalside, bequeathed to her by her late husband 'Richard Ingerson,' to their sons 'John and Nathaniel Ingerson' with the consent of her now husband John Knight Sr. of Newbury." "A Genealogy of the Ingersoll Family in America, 1629-1925," Lillian Drake Avery (NY: The Grafton Press, 1926), p. 2 reports that she "is said to be a cousin of John Spencer of Newbury (NEHGR 53:343)." Ancestry.com offers: "Langley Name Meaning - habitational name from any of the numerous places named with Old English lang long + leah wood, glade; or a topographic name with the same meaning. English: from the Old Norse female personal name Langlíf, composed of the elements lang long + líf life. Americanized spelling of French Langlais."
