Francis Higginson of Claybrook, Leicestershire, who was ejected from his "living" for nonconfirmity and came to serve a Salem, MA church at an annual salary of L30 - sailing 25 April 1629, arriving 29 June. Higginson wrote an account of the voyage and in 1630 published "New England's Plantation..." describing the colony. "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1633" reports: "On 10 April 1668 Anne Knight deeded eighty acres at Royalside, bequeathed to her by her late husband 'Richard Ingerson,' to their sons 'John and Nathaniel Ingerson' with the consent of her now husband John Knight Sr. of Newbury." "A Genealogy of the Ingersoll Family in America, 1629-1925," Lillian Drake Avery (NY: The Grafton Press, 1926), p. 2 reports that she "is said to be a cousin of John Spencer of Newbury (NEHGR 53:343)."
