He is survived by his wife of 60 years - Sarah Beal, son - Lewis Beal Jr., grandsons - Michael Beal and Austin Beal, brother and sister-in-law - Bernard and Ann Beal, sister-in-law - Mary Beal, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father - Elihu Beal II, mother - Laura (Backman) Beal, sister, and brother in law - Alverna and Donald Williams, brother in law and sister in law - Clayton and Francis Beal, and brother in law - William Beal. He was a member of the Church of the Lamb of God, and he was a member of the following organizations: Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Sons of the Veterans Reserve, The Order of the Founders and Patriots of America, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post # 108, and the National Rifle Association. In his retirement years, he enjoyed playing cards and dominos with his wife Sarah, spending time with his family at their camp, and fishing with his grandson Michael."

[1583] King Stephen was forced to recognize Henry as his heir; when Stephen died the English warmly welcomed the new ruler. Henry enlarged the kingdom - in 1157 he forced the Scottish king to submit to him and to yield his claim to Northumbria - he made allies of the Welsh - in 1175 he invaded Ireland and secured the submission of all the native kings (and made his youngest son, John, lord of Ireland) - in 1160 he took the French Vexin (key piece of land between Normandy and the French royal lands). Henry was one of the most powerful rulers of his era, full of energy and an able military leader. He was tall and had broad shoulders, with strength and endurance. "His dress was usually informal - like that of a huntsman - and his manner courteous and charming, although he was quick to take offence if he felt his authority as king was being threatened. His sense of humour was strong and his wit mordant, but his temper was unpredictable and he could be bitterly vindictive.... Generous to the poor, he gave alms frequently, and often in secret. ...had a serious and scholarly side...[which] emerges in the many legal, administrative and financial developments of his reign, developments for which he had been much praised by posterity."{-"The Plantagenet Chronicles," ed. by Elizabeth Hallam. 1986, pp.94-5.} Henry was crowned at Westminster Abbey on the Sunday before Christmas, 1154. He succeeded his father [898/902] as Adalberto I Conte e Marchese di Ivrea. He rebelled against Berengario I King of Italy in 896, supporting the rival candidate Louis III King of Provence as King of Italy. After the defeat of the latter in 905, Adalberto was exiled across the Alps back to Burgundy. He rebelled a second time against Berengario in alliance with Lambert Archbishop of Milan, this time in support of Rudolf II King of Burgundy-Transjurania, another rival candidate as King. Initially defeated, he and Rudolf finally defeated Berengario at Firenzuola 29 Jul 923. - m firstly ([898/900]) Gisela di Friulia, daughter of Berengario I Marchese di Friulia, King of Italy [Unruochingi] & his wife Bertila di Spoleto ([880/885]-[13 Jun 910/26 Jan 913]).
