"Lubbock Morning Avalanche [Lubbock, Texas], 3 Oct 1942," p. 6: "Funeral rites were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Flomo Baptist church, for John Green Franks, 87, who died at the home of a son, Calvin Franks, in Flomot. Burial was in the Flomo cemetery. He was the father of Mrs. J. R. Thomas, 709 Twenty eighth St., Lubbock. He had lived in West Texas 42 years, most of that time in Cottle county near Dumont and Delwin. He helped organize Baptist churches at Dumont and Delwin. He had been a religious leader more than 60 years and had served as a deacon more than 40 years. He is survived by his wife, seven sons and daughters, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren."

His father, Francis, was a partner in the wool business, while his mother Fanny was active in various social causes, particularly women's education; her aunt was the writer Harriet Martineau, and this family connection gave Frank his second name. He had three younger brothers, all destined to play apart in the city's life. After study at Leeds Grammar School, he went onto Trinity College, Cambridge, which had just opened its doors to non-conformists like him."

Find A Grave memorial 54125383 offers: "Little is known about Sarah at this time other than her first name and that she was the farmer's wife, that of Robert Pollock, the son of Reverend James Pollock of Lack Township, Juniata County. Sarah and Robert's known children were Margaret, Lydia, Mary Ann, Sarah Jane, Catharine, Martha, Arabella, Nancy and Robert. Sarah and her husband Robert Pollock are reportedly buried at the Polk/Pollock cemetery in Lack Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania, however there is only one headstone in this cemetery that actually displays the 'Pollock' surname and that is of Robert's father, the Reverend James Pollock. It is believed that Robert and Sarah's actual graves are forever forgotten with time and the passing of all their immediate family members and friends. It is most likely that they rest under two of the many unmarked field-stones within this old cemetery."
