[30182] A pdf file in jorandby.net/genealog offers: "Ole G Slora, age 35, and his new wife Juliana, age 30, were listed as #534 and 535 on page 14 of the passenger manifest of the German steamer Salier, which sailed from Bremen and arrived in Baltimore in July 1882. Of the 541 immigrants in steerage, 453 were from Germany, 54 from Austria, 22 from Norway, 10 from Sweden, and 2 from Switzerland. [Ole reported many different birthdates during his life; 1851 occurs most often, so he was probably actually 31 when he emigrated in 1882] . . . Ole and Janna spent their first years as American immigrants in Minnesota, where their first two children were born, then moved to Chicago about 1887. When Ole's mother and his brother and sisters immigrated in 1886, they named Minnesota as their US destination, presumably to join Ole and his family. After travelling from Boston to the Midwest, Anna, Martin, Margrete, and Hannah Slora may have halted in Chicago on their way to Minnesota, or they could have gone on to Minnesota, then relocated to Chicago when Ole did."
