[8693] Edith apparently (2) m. ______ Kline, as this is her surname on her grave marker. Ancestry.com offers: "Barnes Name Meaning - English: topographic name or metonymic occupational name for someone who lived by or worked at a barn or barns, from Middle English barn 'barn', 'granary'. In some cases, it may be a habitational name from Barnes (on the Surrey bank of the Thames in London), which was named in Old English with this word. English: name borne by the son or servant of a barne, a term used in the early Middle Ages for a member of the upper classes, although its precise meaning is not clear (it derives from Old English beorn, Old Norse barn 'young warrior'). Barne was also occasionally used as a personal name (from an Old English, Old Norse byname), and some examples of the surname may derive from this use. Irish: possibly an Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Bearáin 'descendant of Bearán', a byname meaning 'spear'. French: variant of Bern"

[20492] http://home.comcast.net/~kaeh/Histories/thos-wm.html states he was b. ca. 1623 of William Hatch's FIRST wife (not Jane Young) and reports "By 1625 William was living at Wye where his son, John, was baptized at the parish at Wye 7 August, 1625." "He settled in the Two Mile 'on a point of land northeast of Stoney cove, and southeast of the second Society's Meetinghouse' which was joined to Marshfield in 1788. He built the corn and fulling mills in the Two Mile and was killed by lightning in a stable in Scituate in March 1701. Walter made two separate wills which have been preserved. The first was superceded when his son, Antipas, became of 'unsound mind' and a second was written."
