[20058] Thomas is mentioned in his father's will, 5 June 1822/26 June 1826 - abstracted in Richard Smith, "Will Abstracts, Estates, and Guardianships, Wayne Co., OH 1812-1851," p. 4. "History of Wayne County, OH," Ben Douglass (Wooster, OH: 1874), p. 683: "Thomas Boydston settled in Greene township as early as the spring of 1811. He was born in Green county, Pa., in December, 1786, and married Emily Burress, of Monongalia county, Virginia, the following children resulting from this first marriage: Boaz, Mary, Charles, Belinda, Presley and Enoch. His wife Emily dying May 24, 1824, in East Union township, he was married a second time to Mary Brakefield, of Greene township, who died without issue. A third time he was married to Elizabeth Steel, of East Union township, of which union the following children are living: Solon, Sarah, Emily, Minerva, Eunice. He died in Orrville, August 22, 1863, his wife still surviving him." This "History" (p. 680) states that Thomas was the second settler in Greene Twp., following Michael Thomas, and they were the only settlers in the township for three years; Thomas' land was the northwest corner of section 33 and Michael's was the southwest corner of this section. Thomas is listed as Clerk of the township in 1817. Thomas' son Solon is mentioned further in this history. Boaz is on the 1825 tax list in Wayne Co., OH as a "resident proprietor." "The Boydstun - Boydston Family," Gladys Boydsun Domonoske (3rd edition, 1979)(privately printed: Mrs. A. B. Domonoske, 207 E. 6th St., Davis, CA 95616), p. 68 gives Thomas' year of birth as 1790. Elizabeth is mentioned in her father's will - see (May, 2001): http://www.ameritech.net/users/glhold/Websteel.htm. A Boydston Internet site in 2001 is http://backto60s.tripod.com/famhist/index.html. The federal census 29 July 1850 in East Union Twp., Wayne Co., OH lists a Thomas (farmer, age 63), wife Elizabeth (age 40) and Enoch, (27), Franklin (18), Emily (16), Sarah (13), Minerve [sic] (12), Solon (8) and Eunice (4); on the same sheet as nearby neighbors are two Milbourn families.

[13294] Allen's death year and family information is contradicted elsewhere, but Find A Grave Memorial 100184201 offers: "Allan Jefferson Kyle was nine years old when his parents and siblings decided to go to Calif. by wagon train. They left ILL and began a journey by covered wagon that crossed the Indian-infested plains. On the trip he saw Buffalo Bill and more than once members of the wagon train experienced near panic when Indians approached the train. The train consisted of 72 wagons and 360 people. The log trek started in May and it was not over until December that the family would reach there destination of Stockton, Calif. They would lose the mother Anna and a sister Marie to yellow fever and a 11/2 year old brother DJ. David would die after they reached Calif. The Kyle consisted of two vehicles one drawn by oxen and the other by horses. They were to meet up at Jackson, Iowa. The trail boss was Cpt. Speer."
