He was a Private under his brother,Capt James Davis-later Col. Davis. He was a scout against the Indians in 1712, He and his son Moses Jr. were slain by Indians on Mill Road on 10 Jun 1724. The Rev. Hugh Adams stated: 'Two more men of our parish were killed by Indians, namely Moses Davis Sr. one of the most wise and godly of the breatheran in our church, and his son Moses Davis Jr., being a married man and father of several children.'
