John Dampman is listed in the German and Swiss Immigrants records. There is a Johannes Dampman who was buried at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Pottstown, PA. Pleasant River, afterwards Addison, in 1769- '70. He remained a short time and returned home for his father Wilmot Wass and his family who came to Addison in 1772.
Wilmot Wass' family were Wilmot, David, John, James, Betsey. Wilmot Wass married ________ Strout; children, Wilmot, William, James, Christopher, John, Lucy, Polly. 2d married Rebecca Jordan; children, Joseph, David, Daniel, Stillman, Rebecca, Betsey, Anna. Wilmot Wass 3d married 1st Wealthy Dyer; children-- Lemuel, Holmes, Jones, Otis, Robert, Rebecca: 2d Phebe Coffin; one child Sophia." A William Wass, age 81, a sea captain, d. 19 March 1851, is buried in Great Hill Cemetery, Columbia Falls, Washington Co., ME - see Find A Grave memorial182424900.
