Isolde was heiress of the Manors of Eastington, Gloucestershire, and Thornbury, Herefordshire. She is apparently NOT the daughter of Margaret de Fienes - see "Ancestral Roots..." (1992), 207-31. Hereford (who was living and m. to her in 1286/7), da. of Sir Edmund DE MORTIMER, 1st LORD MORTIMER,(e) of Wigmore, co. Hereford, by (----). She brought him the manors of Eastington, co. Gloucester, and of Thornbury, co. Hereford. Note e: Her father, Edmund de Mortimer of Wigmore, by charter, undated, gave to her and Walter de Balun, her husband, the manor of Arley, co. Stafford, for life. (Addit. MSS., no. 5485, f. 160). On 12 Apr. 1326, she (again) had livery of this manor. (Close Roll, 19 Edw. II, m. 8). (ex inform. G.W. Watson). V.G. The mother of Isolt must be an earlier wife of Edmund Mortimer than Margaret de Fiennes, since Isolt married Hugh, Lord Audley circa 1288 and Margaret married Edmund in 1285 (see post, vol. ix, p. 283, note (m)). [Ex inform. Lindsay L. Brook.] Unfortunately the reference apparently given as the authority for Isolt's parentage (Addit. MS. 5485, f. 160), is incorrect, so it is not possible to check whether it provides explicit evidence that Isolt was Edmund's daughter. Douglas Richardson, in January 2002, commented on the statement above that Isolt brought Eastington in Gloucestershire and Thornbury in Herefordshire to the Audleys. Concerning Thornbury, this seems to be an error, as the Audleys held Thornbury in Gloucestershire, whereas the Mortimers held Thornbury in Herefordshire. The account does not specify in what fashion Isolt brought Eastington, but it had previously been held by the Baluns, so she brought it as dower from her first marriage, not as a marriage-portion from her own family."

Granddaughter Jessica wrote in March, 2006: "'Gram spent most of life being a stay at home mother taking care of her four children. She did work for a short time at a local farm once the children were in school. She has always been involved with her children and their families. 'Grampa' always called her the 'mother to all children.'" Her obituary in the Bangor Daily News 10 Aug 2012: "SEARSPORT - Elizabeth E. Connor, "A mother to all children," 78, passed on Aug. 8, 2012, in Searsport, with her loving family by her side. Elizabeth was born Dec. 2, 1933, in Searsport, daughter of Clifton and Sadie (Bailey)Ward. Elizabeth was a loving and unselfish woman who always gave to others. She was an avid collector of many things and loved going to the flea markets to see her "family." She enjoyed spending time at the horse races and will always be remembered for her great love of the color pink. Elizabeth is survived by four children, Arnold Connor and wife, Dot, of Stockton Springs, Robert Connor and wife, Laura, of Searsport, Dottie Wellman and husband, Joe, of Frankfort and Marguerite Steeves and husband, Darol, of Searsport. She was a wonderful grandmother to nine grandchildren, Jessica and husband, Bobby, Joe Jr. and wife, Andrea, Missy and husband, Doug, Jason, Amanda and companion, Jeremy, Justin and wife, Jess, Tim Jr. and fiancee, Kasey, Casey and fiance, Shawn, and Chris and wife, Alisha; and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth follows home her loving husband, Kenneth A. Connor; two brothers, George and Clifton Ward; grandson, Jason Connor; and son-in-law, Tim Daley Sr. A special thank you to Brandy and others from Waldo County Hospice for all the help you have provided to Elizabeth and the family during the past few months."
