[49066] Edward's grave marker states he was born in 1894. "Intelligencer Journal [Lancaster, Pennsylvania], 3 October 1960," p. 2: "Edward F. Longer, seventy-six, 25 N. Ann St., died Friday at 10:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital following an illness of two years. He was born in Snyder County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Longer. He was a retired machinist, having worked with the Bearings Company of America for 15 years. He was a member of the Mechanic Grove Church of Brethren. Survivors include his wife, Clessie M. Pollock; a daughter, Elizabeth G., wife of Harry Bleacher, Providence Twp.; four sons, David F., Lancaster; Earl W., Terre Hill; Walter S., Lancaster; and Alfred Leroy, Lancaster R2; sixteen grandchildren, and the following half sisters: Mrs. Annie Bergenstresser, Bethlehem; Mabel Orwig, Bellevue. Ohio; and two half brothers, Oliver Longer, Snyder County, and Samuel Longer, also of Snyder County."

[16588] Abishag m. ca. 1661 Robert Taprill (d. Nov 1678) and r. Boston, MA in 1672. Robert Taprill was Captain of the "pinkey" "Hopewell" in 1676 and the ketch "Providence" when he died. His father may be Alexander Waldron as proposed by Jim Walton who offered in Sept 2011: "See my article in The New Hampshire Genealogical Record, Vol 27, Nos. 3-4, July/October 2010, 'Who Was Alice, Wife of George Walton?' . . . Another thing you might find interesting in my article is the references to Alexander Waldron. I am of the belief that he was the father of Abishag based on his concern for the child, and the statements she made when told she should make a will (NHSP v31, Probate v1, pp 230-1). I also searched the Waldron/Walderne family and could not find any reference that would connect her with that family. There is a lot of evidence that his brothers did not share in his concern, and there seemed to be constant bad blood between George and the Waldrons. This is speculation right now, but I am still researching the possibilities."
