He was a member of the Tressler Memorial Free Lutheran Church, Loysville, the Blain Lions Club and Beagle Club. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie L. (Goodling) Rice, four children, Robert E. Rice and his wife Judith Dexter, Nancy L. Stone and her husband Marty, Cindy L. Stone and her husband Kirk, Kathy J. Zendt and her husband Edward, his siblings, Calvin Rice and his wife Gladys of Carlisle, Fred Rice and his wife Lucille of Ickesburg, Anna Ruth Peterson and her husband Ray of Mifflintown, Bonnie Benner and her husband Bob of Duncannon, Winnifred Flickinger of Blain, 10 grandchildren, Shree Williams, Jesse Stone, Andrea Hooker, Jarret Zendt, Rebecca McSherry, Elizabeth Dexter-Rice, Cain Stone, Blake Stone, Josie Zendt, Thomas Dexter-Rice, 3 great-grandchildren, Noah, Aiden and Gavin Williams."
