[4929] Chateaudun is a town in north-central France, 28 miles SSW of Chartres. First known as Castrodunum, it was capital of the countship. Its castle was founded in the 10th century. Hugues III married Agnes de Freteval. Hugues III is son of Routrou I ,Viscount of Chateaudun ( b. ca 1014) and Adeline De Domfront (b. ca 1025, m. ca 1045 in Normandy). Hugues III and Agnes may also be the parents of Hugues IV (d. 1180), instead of his grandparents.
