"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 29 July 2024: "Bangor - Lorraine H. Smith, 93, of Bangor, formerly of Bucksport & Troy, died July 20th, at Westgate Manor. She was born on November 1, 1930 to Lionel S. Higgins and Ida Belle Higgins in Bar Harbor. Lorraine attended Colby College and after raising her family went to school and became an L.P.N. She married Albert L. 'Bunny' Smith, Jr. and they had six children, Albert L. 'Sandy' Smith, III, Kathleen Smith Denis, Victoria Smith Davis, Jeffrey L. Smith, Elizabeth Smith Youts and Eleanor Smith Ferris
She worked as a nurse and retired from Waterville Osteopathic Hospital. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening and canning the harvest from the family garden. Lorraine is survived by her beloved children Sandy & his wife Colleen of Bangor, Kathy & her husband Dave of Bucksport, Vicki of Ipswitch, MA, Betsy and her husband Kevin of Beverly, MA and Elle & her husband Fred of Durham, New Hampshire, and grandchildren Meghan S. MacDonald, Andi Denis, Marissa Denis, Josh Davis, Alia Jackson, Caitrin Ferris, Keira Ferris, Ashling Ferris and great grandchildren Seamus MacDonald, Reese Lanpher, Charlotte & Laurel Jackson, Clive & Bruce Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Bunny, her son Jeff and her sister Inez."
