"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 13 January 1967, p. 20: "Searsport - Walter R. Corey, 49, died Thursday in an apparent farm accident. He was born in Searsport Oct. 17, 1917, the son of Gardiner and Meda (Moody) Corey. Corey was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wannetta Colcord, Stockton Springs; three sons, Robert of Stockton Springs, Allen of Belfast and Roger of Monroe; two half-brothers, Vernon Grant of Searsport and Milford Grant of Torrington, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Lyle Littlefield of Belfast; seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousin.s Funeral services will be held at Young's Funeral Home, Searsport, Sunday at 2 p.m. with Richard Wyanski, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Entombment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery."
