Hodsdon who died on his homestead on Lake Amelia Wednesday night was on of the Pioneer residents of Minneapolis. He was born in Castine, ME., in 1820, followed a Sea-faring life from the time he was 14 till he was 26, served in the United States navy for three years and then lived on a farm on Lake street and Bloomington avenue until 1867 when he bought the homestead near Lake Amelia where he died. Mr. Hodsdon was one of the early Free Masons of the state, being one of the charter members of the grand lodge of Minnesota."
