He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (Ward) Connor of Frankfort; four children, Dorothy and her husband, Joseph Wellman, of Frankfort, Marguerite and her husband, Darol Steeves, of Searsport, Robert Connor of Frankfort, Arnold and his wife, Dot, of Stockton Springs; three sisters, Marguerite Buzzell of Bangor, Annette Batchelder of Newport, Lillian Dakin of Clarksville, Tenn. Ken enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and their families, Jessica and Bobby, Joe, Jr. and Andrea, Melissa and Doug, Jason, Amanda and Kevin, Justin and Jess, Timothy, Christopher and Jasmine, Cassandra and Christopher; and eleven great-grandchildren." Jessica wrote in March, 2006: "He was a long shoreman and owned a small grocery store in his early days. He always knew how to make a dollar from practically anything. He built his own houses and many times furnished them with items that he had made. He was a avid outdoorsman his whole life and really enjoyed telling hunting stories. Educ: He only went to school until the 6th grade then he had to work to support himself. 'Grampa' was a very generous person. He was always ready to lend a hand to someone in need. Even more so if it was a family member. He was a collector. He especially enjoyed his coins. He used to enjoy 'wheeling and dealing' and talking with people about his collections."
