"Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 7 May 2020: "Milford - Doris-Ann (Davis) Gray, 93, died in her home on the morning of April 26th, 2020, with family by her side. She was born January 27, 1927, to her parents Carl and Clara (Brown) Davis in Waterville. Doris lived in Bartlett, NH as a child and graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1944. She attended the University of Maine for nursing where she met her future sister-in-law, Mary (Gray) Cranker. Through Mary she became acquainted with the love of her life, Frank E. Gray, via letters they exchanged while he was stationed in the South Pacific. Upon his return to Orrington in 1946, they fell in love and were married September 13, 1947. Together they raised their three boys in East Machias and Milford. They spent time at their camp on Long Lake in Marion, Hancock Point, and traveled throughout the state fishing and camping along Maine's many lakes. Doris was a teller at Fleet Bank for 20 years where she retired in 1984. She was a member of the Milford Congregational Church where she was an active member of the Ladies' Aid group for many years. Everyone in Doris' life benefited from her creative and crafty hands. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, knitter, and crocheter. She outfitted her family in her wares, including two wedding dresses, and starting in her late 80's, she crocheted one afghan a month. Doris is predeceased by her husband, Frank E. Gray; her eldest son, Stephen L. Gray; her parents, Carl and Clara Davis of Bangor; and her companion of eight years, Mike Englehart. She is survived by her brother, Robert Davis and his wife, Elizabeth of Holden, MA; her daughter-in-law, Gail E. (Hildreth) Gray of Buxton; her sons, Brian F. Gray and his wife, Betty S. (Smith) of Bucksport and Darrell W. Gray of Milford; her seven grandchildren, Nicole Gray of Buxton, Jason Gray and his partner, Mercedes Thayer of Bar Mills, Richard Gray and his wife, Carrie (Obsorne) of Cape Elizabeth, Aaron Gray and his wife, Misty (Higgins) of Bucksport, Dustin Doliber of Searsport, Megan Gray of Portland, and Justin Gray of Portland; four great-grandchildren, Meadow Fortier of Buxton, Elloise St. Germaine and Esme Gray of Bar Mills, and Jackson Gray of Cape Elizabeth; many beloved nieces and nephews and sisters and brothers-in-law. Doris was the long-time matriarch of our family and she will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her."

John1 ) was born ca. 1630. He married Hannah Lecraft Jan. 1, 1650/51 in Eastham, MA.He died in 1706 in Eastham. His estate was probated Nov. 4, 1706 in Eastham.Hannah Lecraft was born after 1636. Her surname has also been spelled as Reycraft. She was of Yarmouth, MA. She died after 1702, as she is mentioned in her husband's will prepared in 1702. Her parentage is not known. Lt. John Mayo was said to have come to Eastham in 1644 and lived out his life there. He was appointed surveyor of highways on June 3, 1656. He was appointed on Nov. 14, 1676 to oversee the will of Nicholas Snow. He undoubtedly made frequent trips to Boston as he receipted at various times for the regular payments which the Second Church at Boston made to his father between the time the Rev. John Mayo gave up his ministry there in 1673 until his death in 1676. Lt. John Mayo took part in the Colonial Wars and fought at the Great Swamp Fight in the King Phillip's War, under the command of Capt. Samuel Moseley, probably riding his father's horse which was killed. 3. Jeremiah Mayo4 (Daniel3, John2, Rev. John1): was born ca. 1700, based on grave stone record " in his 65th year ". He married Elizabeth Mulford on June 17, 1725 in Truro, MA. He died Nov. 9, 1765 in Wellfleet, MA. He is buried in Duck Creek Cemetery. He was elected Treasurer of the North Eastham Precinct (now Wellfleet) in 1729, 1730, and 1739. He was elected Assessor 1736-38, 1746, 1750, and 1753. Elizabeth Mulford was born June 30, 1701 in Eastham, MA., d/o Thomas Mulford2 (Thomas1) and Mary Bassett. She died June 14, 1761 in Wellfleet, MA. at age 59. The grave stone record said " aged almost 60 years ". The brothers Daniel and Jeremiah Mayo married sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Mulford. Known children of Jeremiah Mayo4 and Elizabeth Mulford, all born in Eastham, MA., were:

b. Benjamin Mayo5 and Hannah Foster's son , Benjamin Mayo, born ca. 1768, married Hannah Sarah Gleason. There is further information about them and that Mayo line of descent. Both are sons of Jeremiah Mayo4.

The name of a county and town in Ireland, from moi or moy, Gaelic, a plain, moy a river, and ai a region or territory, - the region or tract on the river Moy. . . . John, minister, came to Boston, Mass., 1638; removed to Eastham, Mass., 1646; returned Boston, where he was first minister of North Church, 1655, dismissed 1673, when he went to Barnstable, Eastham and Yarmouth, Mass."

"The Patriot News [Harrisburg, PA], 4 August 2008" published his obituary: "Elizabethville - Marlin 'Junior' Shade, Jr., 76, of 186 Woland Road passed away peacefully Saturday, August 2, 2008 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Marlin was born Saturday, September 17, 1931 in Gratz, PA, son of the late Marlin and Erma Huntzinger Shade. He was preceded in death by son Randy and daughter Stacey and his brother Jack. Marlin graduated from the Gratz High School, class of 1948 and Harrisburg Barber School. He was an employee of the former Muskin Shoe Co. in his early years. He later was self-employed as a barber in Millersburg, and with his wife Anna, owner of The Valley Inn, Loyalton. Marlin was a well known local musician, getting his start with Al Shade & The Short Mountain Boys. He then formed his own band, The Vagabonds, who were popular throughout the midstate for many years. In addition to his love of music, Marlin was an avid golfer and former member of the Silver Stragglers Golf League. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Millersburg and was currently a member of Millersburg Moose Lodge #59 and the Upward Investors Club. Marlin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anna E.
