[55115] "The Carlisle Sentinel [Carlisle, Pennsylvania]," 13 December 2005: "Melvin I. Alleman, 83, of 191 Chamberlin Road, Shippensburg, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on March 26, 1922, in Lurgan Towhship, Franklin County, he was a son of the late John K. and Elizabeth E. Wyrick Alleman. He was retired from Shippensburg University, where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church in Shippensburg. He is survived by his wife, Mildred C. Brantner Alleman; a daughter, Carol M.(Mrs. Wayne) Forrester, Chambersburg; three sons, Richard D.(husband of Patricia) Alleman and Galen M.(husband of Denise) Alleman, both of Newburg, and Randall E. (husband of Beth) Alleman, Shippensburg; three sisters, Dorothy Whisler, Shippensburg, and Sara Kipe and Esther Crider Pisle, both of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and seven brothers."

Surviving are a son, Karl, Hyattsville, Md.; three daughters, Lois Leshser and Mary Martz, both of Lykens, and Helen Wenchel, Annandale, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Berrysburg."

[43425] "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 6 June 1979," p. 19: "Mrs. Maud S. Ruckman, 93, of 21 Mechanic St., Shiloh, suffered a fatal heart attack Tuesday morning at her home. Mrs. Ruckman was born in Shiloh Aug. 15, 1886, and lived in the Shiloh area most of her life. She was a former news correspondent for the Plymouth Advertiser and the Greenwich Enterprise Review. She was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh, where she was organist for many years. She was a past worthy matron of the Shiloh Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Shiloh Garden Club and the Loyal Daughters. She graduated from Wittenberg College of Music and taught piano and organ many years. Survivors include five sons, Thomas of Washington state, Richard of Youngstown, James of San Antonio, Texas, and Robert and F. Dean, both of Shelby; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh by the Rev. Pauline Atkins. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh."
