"The Chronicle [Shippensburg, Pennsylvania], 8 April 1929," p. 5 "Stephen Skinner Widney died on March 22 at his home in Dry Run after an illness of 14 months' duration. He was aged 74 years and 14 days, and was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church of Doylesburg. He was born on a farm near Doylesburg and lived there until 11 years ago, when he moved to Dry Run. He Is survived by his wife and 5 children, Mrs. Maud Hazlett, Johnston Widney and Mrs. Bess Harry, all of Dry Run; Roy J. and Muurice Widney, of Alberta, Canada; also 11 grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters. The funeral services were held Mar. 27, conducted by his pastor, Rev. M. .E. Deerholt, interment at the Path Valley cemetery."
