[2675] Caswallon (AKA Catwallaun) was driven from Gwynedd by the English under Edwin, but "returned, rallied his countrymen, enlisted the support of other north Welsh kings, and found an ally in Penda, king of the Mercians...the allies killed Edwin in 633, and Catwallaun marched his army to the north, repeating the exploit of his ancestor Rhun, ninety years before. For a year he ruled as a high king from the Thames to the Forth, supreme over British and English underkings." His empire collapsed due to lack of cohesiveness among the peoples and areas of Britain - Oswald, "exiled son of Aethelferth, returned from Ireland and caught him off guard, on Hadrian's Wall." {-"The Age of Arthur," John Morris (Scribner's, 1973, pp. 239-40)} W.H.Turton, "The Plantagenet Ancestry" (Baltimore: Genealigical Publishing Co., 1968), p. 128, gives his wife as a sister of Penda of Mercia who is son of Wibba, King of Mercia who died in 606; Wibba is son of Crida, first King of Mercia (d. 591, son of Cunebald).} Also see "A History of Wales," John Davies (New York: Penguin Books, 1993), pp. 62-64, and "The Earliest English Kings," D. P. Kirby (London, England: Routledge, 1992), pp. 83-88. Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadwallon_ap_Cadfan which states "His son was Cadwaladr "Fendigaid" ap Cadwallon." - but the date of his death and the birth of his son make this impossible, although listed as such by Geoffrey of Monmouth's "History of the Kings of Britain." If Monmouth is correct about this relationship, the ddeath date is wrong - and Monmouth proposes that Cadwallon d. in 655.

[25375] The unverified OneWorldTree at Ancestry.com in 2006 suggests that Jacob is son of Edward Savage Updegrave (b. 1782 in Charles, Chester Co., PA, d. 1845 in Norristown, Montgomery Co., PA) and Sarah Jacobson Lang (b. 1782 in PA, d. 1846 in Norristown). See "Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania: Genealogy--family History--biography; Containing Historical Sketches of Old Families and of Representative and Prominent Citizens, Past and Present" (J. H. Beers, 1916), p. 681, which reports, inter alia, that Jacob was a pioneer settler in Pine Valley, Schuylkill Co., PA where he farmed.
The author of Find A Grave Memorial 158601469 wrote in 2016:
Keziah Rhodes had told my father that her grandmother, Mrs. Harmon Fahringer, was Elizabeth Weaver (Weber). "Genealogy of Joseph and his Descendants . . ." compiled by Clarence Wood Fisher (1890), page 71: "John P. Fisher . . born in Locust township, Columbia County, Pa., Jan. 10th, 1819; married, Nov. 8th, 1849, Mrs. Eliza (Fahringer) Hower, daughter of Hiram [sic] and Elizabeth Weaver Fahringer." Mrs. Eliza (Fahringer) Hower is "Find A Grave Memorial# 52881811".
"The Goshenhoppen Registers 1741-1819", (German-speaking Roman Catholic mission at Bally (Goshenhoppen), Washington Twp., Berks Co., PA): Elizabeth, daughter of Matthias Weber and his wife Magdalen, born January 23, 1780, baptized March 5, 1780, at home of George Riffel "at Magunchi" (this would be around Trexlertown, Lehigh Co., PA), sponsors Melchior Riffel and Elizabeth Dabber (Tapper?). April 27, 1777, Mathias Weber, widower, and Magdalen Buger, single, of Macungi, married April 27, 1777; witnesses Matthias Riffel, Nicholas Rohr, Agatha Riffel, Catharine Rohr. This is the second of Mathias Weber's (Matthew Weaver's) three marriages.
Mathias Weber (Matthew Weaver) has a last will and testament recorded at Lehigh County court house, Allentown, PA, I think around 1819. Unfortunately, neither the will itself nor the estate settlement gives a complete list of children. Harmon Fahringer owes the estate $5.70.
I do not have 100% proof that this Elizabeth Weaver (Elisabeth Weber) is Mrs. Harmon Fahringer. However, her being raised Roman Catholic would explain why the name Weber/Weaver never appears among the sponsors at the baptisms of Harmon Fahringer's children (six of them 1802-1815 at St. Paul's, Trexlertown, PA, and seventh baptism John Fahringer in 1819 at Ziegel's, Weisenberg Twp., and in the records of Rev. John Helfrich).
