He has been supposed to be a son of Ramiro I of Asturias and his second wife, Urraca Paterna. This would make him a half-brother of Ordoño I. He was created, possibly by his half-brother upon his assumption of the crown, governor of the eastern march (marca oriental) of the realm, which would later become the county of Castile. He took part in Ordoño's Repoblación, repopulating Amaya in 860. He was at the side of the king in many battles of the Reconquista, including the siege and sack of Albelda in 859. Between 867 and 868, he assisted in the suppression of the Alavés rebellion of the Basque magnate Eglyón. For this service he was made count of Álava. He governed that county until 870, when Vela Jiménez is recorded as count. He was defeated magnificently at Bureba by the troops of the emir of Córdoba and the Reconquista was set back for years."

Born Nov. 2, 1934, in Hancock County. He was the son of the late Richard Lawrence and Florence Tracy Collar.
Mr. Collar was a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy and served in the U.S. Navy. He was an engineer with Warren Pumps that later became Ahlstrom Pumps, retiring after 38 years of service. Mr. Collar enjoyed golf, traveling, camping and watching most sports. In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Matthew Collar (Kelly), Christine Collar, Alane Collar and Margaret Retter (Scott); sisters, Betty Smith and Ruth Freeman; grandchildren, Zackary Retter, Seamus Collar and Shannon Collar."

Her refinement and love of study contrasted with her husband, Peter of Holstein-Gottorp's vulgarity and intemperance; neglected by him, she ingratiated herself with some of the nobles. Her intrigues were discovered by Peter and, on ascending the throne in 1762, he threatened to repudiate her, whereupon she imprisoned him and had him strangled. The subsequent murder of Ivan, the next heir, left Catherine in undisputed possession of the throne. She supported progressive ideas, such as reforms in law, education, and provincial and municipal administration, but she ruled as an autocrat and suppressed Polish nationalists, which led to Poland's partition, and took the Crimea and parts of the Black Sea coast from Turkey. In 1762 Siberia was created a separate Kingdom in a Personal union with Russia until it was incorporated in the Empire. She was also famous for her long succession of young lovers. 1773 she exchanged the Russian claims to Holstein-Gottorp with the Counties of Oldenburg-Delmenhorst and in 1793 she inherited Jever from brother and appointed her sister-in-law as administrator."

[12010] Dagmar is daughter of Thyge Rasmussen (an immigrant from Denmark) and wife Lena. "The Courier [Waterloo, Iowa], 21 October 1945," p. 2: "Funeral services for Mrs. Freace C. Heichel, 57, former Waterloo resident who died Friday at the home of her son, Freace Heichel, Jr., 723 Fourth avenue, Cedar Falls, have not yet been set, pending word from a son in Oregon, members of the family said. Mrs. Heichel, whose home was at 722 Fourth avenue, Cedar Falls, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 11 a. m. while visiting in the home of her son. Born Dagmar Rasmussen, daughter of Thyge and Lena Rasmussen on Sept. 4, 1888, near Hudson, la., she was married to Freace C. Heichel on Sept. 4, 1906. The couple resided on farms near Hudson and Washburn before retiring and moving to Waterloo. They had resided in Cedar Falls since 1934. Mrs. Heichel was a member of the United Brethren church and was a past regent of the Women of the Moose in Waterloo. Surviving besides the husband are four daughters, Mrs. Glenn Brown, 214 Peoria street and Mrs. Claude O. Morgan, 1720 Locke avenue, Waterloo; Mrs. George Shorman of Greene, la.. Miss Norma Dell, at home; and Mrs. Don Rogers, 716 Fourth avenue, Cedar Falls. Also surviving are four sons, Freace, Jr., 723 Fourth avenue, Cedar Falls; Russell of Cedar City; Hershel of The Dalles, Ore.; and Glade, at home. A son, John, was killed in action on Apr. 19, 1945. Seven sisters also survive, Including Mrs. Fred Joyce, Hotel President; Mrs. Thorvald Hoist, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Harve Lincoln, San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. Arthur French, Los Angeles; Mrs. George Fisher, Hudson; Mrs. Ben Gilbert, Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. James Nelson, Calgary, Canada."
