[44359] An unverified file in 2018 in Ancestry.com offers: "Sir Duncan Campbell was born in 1455 in Argyll, Scotland. He had [at least] one daughter with Lady Margaret Moncrieff Baroness Campbell in 1514. He died on September 9, 1513, in England at the age of 58. Lady Margaret Moncrieff Baroness Campbell was born in 1484 in Perthshire, Scotland. . . . . She died on November 10, 1554, in Argyll, Scotland, at the age of 70." Find A Grave memorial 98100664 offers: "Duncan is the son of Colin Campbell of Glenorchy, 1st of Duntroon and Janet Stewart. He is the grandson of Duncan Mor Campbell and Marjory Stewart, 1st Lord Campbell of Lochawe. Sir Duncan, the second laird, extended the family possessions on Loch Tayside by acquiring the barony of Finlarig, which had been long in the hands of the Drummonds of Stobhall, and also the tack of the twelve-merk land of Crannich from the Laird of Weem. About 1492 he came into possession of the lands of Balloch. Glenlyon likewise fell into his hands, and he received a charter from James IV., appointing him Bailie of Discher and Toyer, and Glenlyon, when he took in tack the King's lands in Breadalbane. He was twice married, and had four sons and three daughters. To Archibald, his second son, he gave Glenlyon, and to his brother John, who had in his father's lifetime received the barony of Lawers, he gave the eight- merk land of Shian, in Glenquaich, which he had also acquired. Until the purchase of Finlarig, with its old castle, which had been built by the Drummonds, the Augustinian Priory, in the Isle of Loch Tay, seems to have been the residence of the Glenorchy Campbells in this quarter. There was certainly, in those days, a degree of security both from man and beast in living on an island. Kilchurn Castle, however, continued to be the chief seat for some time, and it was there that the third and fourth lairds breathed their last. They were both buried in the chapel of Finlarig, which had been erected by the third laird to be 'ane Buriall for himselff and his Posteritie.' Sir John, the fifth laird, died in the Isle of Loch Tay, on the 5th of July, 1550, and Sir Colin succeeded as sixth laird. Sir Duncan was killed at Flodden, along with his chief, the Earl of Argyll, and his sovereign."

[22720] http://www.britannia.com/bios/lords/rivers2aw.html offers: "Anthony Woodville, Earl Rivers (1440-1483) - Born: 1440 probably at Grafton Regis, Northants, Earl Rivers, Died: 25th June 1483 at Pontefract Castle, Yorks West Riding. Anthony, son of Richard Woodville, the 1st Earl Rivers, and Jacquetta, Duchess of Bedford, was the brother of Edward IV's Queen. He first appears on record, in 1460, as fighting on the Lancastrian side during the War of the Roses, but transferred his allegiance and, after his sister's marriage, was loaded with wealth and honours by the Yorkist King. He was a curious product of that bloodstained age, for not only was he a considerable scholar and author, the earliest patron of Caxton and the translator of the first book printed in England, but also, in the last twelve years of his life, a devotee and an ascetic. He was incessantly going upon pilgrimages, and throwing up secular offices to do so, and, after his execution, a hair shirt was found next to his skin. On the death of Edward IV, he was at Ludlow with his nephew, Edward V, and, at once, started for London, intending to confront and probably to overthrow Richard of Gloucester who had become Protector; but that astute Royal Prince was too quick for his rival and, after an apparently friendly meeting, arrested the Earl and sent him to be beheaded at Pontefract in June 1483. {Edited from Emery Walker's "Historical Portraits" (1909).}" Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Woodville,_2nd_Earl_Rivers.
