Horn), Levi Winfield (b. 10/17/67), Leah (b. 10/30/70 -calculated], d. 08/21/71), and Daniel M. (b. 05/12/72). In 1860, he was a farmer presumably living in Springfield Township, York County, Pennsylvania, although he is not found in that census. A Civil War veteran, he was drafted in York County November 8, 1862, mustered into federal service at York November 10 as a private with Co. E, 166th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), and honorably discharged with his company July 28, 1863. Mary died in 1905, and he married Elizabeth lnu., fathering an unnamed infant son (b. 02/11/08 - lived 5 minutes). In 1890, he lived in York Township, York County, but died in Yoe from 'chronic myocardits' with 'dropsy' a contributing factor."

BRYNER, a prominent farmer residing in section 35, Mount Pleasant township, Labette county, Kansas, has for many years been one of the leading agriculturists of the county. He has always been a prominent and influential man, and takes an active interest in the welfare and progress of the township and county in which he resides. Mr. Bryner was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, in 1842, and is a son of Jacob and Mary (Hoke) Bryner. Jacob Bryner was born in Juniata county, Pennsylvania, in 1819, and his death occurred in that county sixty-nine years afterward. His wife, Mary (Hoke) Bryner, was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, in 1820, and died in Juniata county, Pennsylvania, in 1876. They reared the following children: Jerome, deceased; George W., of Juniata county, Pennsylvania; Harriet, deceased; Samuel G., the subject of this sketch; Louis, of Jonesboro, Indiana; William, deceased; and Lydia, of Labette county. James Gray was born in Juniata county, PennsyIvania, in 1791, and died in 1864; his wife was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, in 1808, and her death occurred in 1860, Mr. and Mrs. Gray reared the following offspring: Thomas, of California; James, of Pennsylvania; Catherine (Smith), of Waterford, Pennsylvania; Martha (Bender), of Perry county, Pennsylvania; Nancy, deceased; Margaret; Samuel, of Labette county; George W., deceased; and Joseph, of Altamont, Kansas. Mr. Bryner and his wife have been blessed with four children, namely: Wilbert H., of Labette county, who has two boys, Ralph and Harold; Carl, of Missouri; and Della and Louis, of Labette county. [13895] "Shamokin News-Dispatch, 3 February 1956," p. 2: "Joseph Rebuck, 63, of 508 South Diamond Street, a retired miner, died this morning at 4:30 after illness of several davs. Mr. Rebuck, a son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Rebuck) Rebuck, was born March 10, 1836, in Gowen City. He attended rural schools in that area, and came to Shamokin about 40 years ago. During the years which followed Mr. Rebuck was employed as a miner at Locust Gap and Bear Valley Collieries, but during recent years was employed as a watchman by Hex Warehouse Company. He was a member of Trinity United Evangelical Church. Survivors include the widow, the former Tillie James, to whom Mr. Rebuck was married February 23 1925; two children, Mrs. Flower Fisher, and Joseph D. Rebuck, Shamokin; four brothers, Richard Helfenstein; Harry, Lewistown, and Harvey, and Alfred, Shamokin, and three grandchildren."

[46242] Find A Grave memorial 19365659 lists children with Mary Elizabeth and offers: ". . . information courtesy of Dennis Brandt: The son of John & Mary (Bistline) Shreffler, the family appears in the 1850 census for Toboyne Township, Perry County, as "Bistline" even though John and Mary are shown living together. Orphaned by 1859, a year later Henry was living with his brother Andrew in Jackson Township ans working as a mason. He stood 5' 6" tall and had black hair and gray eyes. A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Perry County August 5, 1862, reportedly at the age of twenty-two, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 11 as a private with Co. G, 133rd Pennsylvania Infantry. He was wounded in the left leg at the battle of Fredericksburg December 13, 1862, but remained on the active roll and honorably discharged with his company May 26, 1863. He also enlisted - probably in Harrisburg; date not reported but in sometime in early September or late August 1864 -, mustered into federal service at the rank of private, promoted to 1st lieutenant September 9, and honorably discharged with his company June 1, 1865, at Alexandria, Virginia. After the war, he married Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Adams and fathered Saloma C. (b. 1867, d. 1868), John Bistline (b. 1868), Annie Maude (b. 1870), Florence Nevada (b. @1873), Henry "Harry," Louella M. (b. 1874 - married Dr. John A. Bender), Lula (b. @1876), Benjamin Franklin "Frank" (b. 1877), Emma (b. 1879 - married a Mickleborough), and Mary Justina (b. 1881 - married a Trostle). He did not mention service with the 208th Pennsylvania in the 1890 Veterans' Schedule."
