Born December 18, 1911 in Ashland County, OH, she was the daughter of Charles Melvin and Laura (Roseborough) Helbert. She has lived in Mansfield since 1934 and was a member of Ridgeway First Church of God. Mrs. Reiter was a member of the Daughters of Herman, the Church of God Women's Ministry and various garden clubs. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick J. and Joyce Reiter of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Clyde Hunter of Nipomo, CA; four grandchildren, Frederick (Mindi) Reiter of Mansfield, F. Scott (Gail) Hunter of Gilroy, CA, Victor (Dawn) Hunter of Santa Clara, CA, and Deborah (Paul) Lillak, Tracy, CA; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond 'Bill' Helbert of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl R. Reiter in August 2000, two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday September 21, 2004 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park."

He was graduated from Maine Central Institute, attended Bowdoin College and was a cum laude graduate of Tufts Dental School. Dr. Houston was a member of Piscataquis Lodge of Masons, Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor, American Legion, and was a past president of the Eastern Maine Dental Society. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Esther (Mace) Houston; two daughters, Jane Landry of East Hartford, Conn. and Janice Mountain of Bangor; two sons, William M. Houston of Bangor and Wallace S. Houslon, Jr. of Brewer; a sister, Mrs. Vera H. Wyman of Cohasett, Mass. and 11 grandchildren," Wallace held the DMD degree. The 11 April 1940 federal census in Milo, Piscataquis Co., ME lists Wallace and his family; he is a dentist with his own office; he and wife Esther are age 40; their children are Jane (age 15), William M. (12), Wallace S., Jr. (11) and Janice (6); also in the household is Elsie M. Mayo (age 26, "hired hand").
