Ryder of Needham, MA; a sister, Maude E. Fitzsimmons and a brother, Alfred H. Fitzsimmons, both of East Hartford. "The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, Pennsylvania], 1 Jan 1941," p. 3: "The many friends of William G. Gutshall, of Blain, were shocked and saddened to learn of his death last Thursday. He was sitting in the store of his father-in-law, James C. Rickard, Esq., a few days previous, when he was seized with a paralytic stroke, from which he never regained consciousness. He had suffered a light stroke last spring, but had recovered from that attack. He was aged 64 years. William G. Gutshall was a son of George W. and Celeste Bennett Gutshall, deceased, and was born in Jackson township. In early life he engaged in farming but later took up his residence in Blain, where he conducted a grain and coal business. He was a member of the Blain Lutheran Church and in political faith was a staunch Democrat. For a number of years he served as a school director. Surviving him are his wife, the former Miss May Rickard, one son, James Gutshall of Shenandoah, Iowa; one grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret J. Dromgold, and brother, Harry W. Gutshall, both of Blain. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Glenn W. Foulke, and burial was in the Gutshall plot in the union cemetery, Blain."

[1781] Dermot or Dermond was deposed as King of Leinster in Ireland. His son Conor was blinded by an enemy in 1168, and later given as hostage to High King Roderick O'Connor.
