[20734] Elijah m. Sarah Morgan (b. 1765, d. 1791). An Elijah Burris/Burroughs is listed in 1784 as grantee in Monongalia Co., WV of 400 acres "Wits. Monon. River" and in 1792 as a grantee of 60 acres adjoining John Burroughs/Burris, 400 and 54 acres both at "Wts. Monon. River" - and John is shown as a 1791 grantee with 348 acres "Wts. Monon. River" - "Sims Index to Misplaced Grants," p. 451. http://www.popenoe.com/Settlers.htm offers in 2010: "Elijah settled 400 acres of land adjoining John Evans in 1774. When his father died ca 1793, he left all his real estate to Elijah, and asked Elijah to pay £300 to his other siblings in varying amounts. In 1796 Elijah was a captain in the county militia. He married Sarah Morgan, the daughter of David Morgan who figured in the story of David's fight with the two Indians which I have previously related. She died in 1791 and Elijah died at the age of 42 in 1798, leaving their young children as orphans. John Evans, Jr., John Wilson Dean, and Stephen Morgan were appointed guardians. The first two were also executors. The will provided that the lands were to be equally divided among the three sons after 50 acres each was given to the daughters. There was also land in Kentucky which was disposed of in the name of all the children."

[49138] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 9 May 2023: "Gorham - Frances Elizabeth (Litchfield) Silsby died peacefully on April 27, 2023, with her daughters by her side, after a period of declining health. She was 93 years old. Frances was born in Brunswick on May 29, 1929, the oldest of three daughters born to Louis Brooks Litchfield and Madalene Barker Litchfield. She grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1946. She attended the University of Maine at Orono, later earning a bachelors degree from Simmons College and a diploma in nursing from the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. She worked as a public health nurse in Hancock and Washington counties until her marriage to Samuel Schoppee Silsby Jr. of Bangor in 1953. They moved to Augusta in 1955 and lived in their home on Spring Street for 50 years until his death in 2008. Frances moved to Gorham in 2014 to be near one of her children. Frances worked for the state of Maines Disability Determination Services for nearly 25 years as a disability claims examiner and adjudicator. She had many friends and was a longstanding member of the service sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She was an avid reader who was always in search of a good book. She loved the seashore, and often said that she wanted to live on an island. Frances was devoted to her family and adored the many cats and dogs that were lucky enough to be her pets over the years. Frances is survived by her children Carolyn Silsby (and her husband, Stanley Piecuch) of Camden, Joanna Wallingford (and her husband, Mark) of Auburn and Nancy Owens (and her husband, Scott) of Gorham; her daughter-in-law Victoria Silsby of Manchester, Vt.; her sister Shirley Whitcomb (and her husband, Eben) of Haddam, Conn.; and a large extended family, including 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her son Samuel Silsby III and her sister Mary Whitworth (and her husband John) predeceased her."

[16697] "The Kinsman family: Genealogical record of the descendants of Robert Kinsman, of Ipswich, Mass., from 1634 to 1875," Lucy W. Stickney, Kinsman (1876), p. 100 states Deborah is daughter of Capt. Stephen Webb and Mary Manning. Ancestry.com offers: "Webb Name Meaning - English and Scottish: occupational name for a weaver, early Middle English webbe, from Old English webba (a primary derivative of wefan 'to weave'; compare Weaver 1). This word survived into Middle English long enough to give rise to the surname, but was already obsolescent as an agent noun; hence the secondary forms with the agent suffixes -er and -ster"
