Born Aug. 25, 1897, in Blain, he was a son of the late Newton and Sally Rhoads Flickinger. He was the widower of Mildred M. Hockenberry Flickinger. He retired as a sawmiller from William Mumper and was also a former farmer and construction worker. He was a World War I Army veteran. He was a Methodist, and a member of Blain Senior Citizens Center, Blain Fire Company and Blain Ambulance Club. Surviving are four sons, Richard L. and Frank A. Jr., both of Blain, and William R. and Kenneth F., both of New Germantown; one daughter, Betty L. Pannabaker of Loysville; one sister, Lilian Fisher of Mecanicsburg; 16 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. He was preceded in death by three sons, David S., Larry E. and Dale E. Flickinger. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Nickel Funeral Home, West Main Street, Loysville, with the Rev. Francis P. Yarlett officiating. Burial will be in Blain Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 7463 of New Bloomfield."
