Sarah's obituary: "South Blue Hill - It is with sorrow that we learned of the death of Mrs. Sarah Closson of Bluehlll, which occurred on the 18th at Bangor where she went for treatment short time ago. She was the daughter of Vespasion and Abagail Carter, former residents of this place, and was one of a family of ten children, all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood. Now there is only two survivors, Mrs. Eunice M. Carter of Campobello, and Mrs. Adella N. Ferrin of this place. She leaves one daughter of Bluehill, Mrs. C. A. Gray, to mourn her loss."

[54271] "Kennebec Journal", 15 February 2014: "Eva H. Donnell, 83, of Spring Road, died unexpectedly on Feb. 13, 2014 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. She was born in Augusta on Aug. 15, 1930, the daughter of Adelbert and Alta (Hutchins) Hagar. Eva graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1948. On Jan. 7, 1951, she married Joseph A. Donnell. Mrs. Donnell was employed for more than 30 years by New England Telephone Co., retiring in 1982. Since retirement she has volunteered hundreds of hours for the Talking Book Program for the blind, and also for the Kennebec Historical Society. Her hobbies included cooking and traveling. Her favorite saying was 'Have suitcase, will travel.' She and her husband traveled all over the United States and Canada visiting every state (except North Dakota) and parts of Europe and Australia through the years. Eva was a member of Penney Memorial United Baptist Church, Cushnoc Senior Citizens, Fitzgerald Cummings Post, American Legion Auxiliary, the Telephone Pioneers and the Augusta Nature Club. She was predeceased by her parents; an infant daughter, Karen Elizabeth, on May 8, 1955; her husband of 44 years, Joseph A. Donnell, on Sept. 15, 1995; her half-brother, David C. Hagar, Oak Flats Australia, on June 25, 2010; and her beloved pet and companion of 15 years, Smokey. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha D. Doherty, and her husband, William, of Natick, Mass."
