[3982] http://home.planet.nl/~voort359/home3bgncy.html gives Lancelin's wife as Alberge (not verified). http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/CENTRAL%20FRANCE.htm offers: "Son of Lancelin according to Orderic Vitalis, who says that his mother was the daughter of the Comte de Maine, which appears to result from confusion with the wife of his brother Jean. 'Domna Agnes comitissa' [wife of Geoffroy II 'Martel' Comte d´Anjou] bought 'ecclesiam Sancti-Beati . . . juxta . . . castrum Vindocini' from 'Lancelino dominico vasso de castro Balgentiaco' and 'apud Castrum-Dunum alteram ecclesiam' from 'filiis eiusdem Lancelino . . . Johanne et Lancelino' by charter dated to before 1040. His parentage is confirmed by the charter dated 12 Apr 1067 under which his sister 'Adeleldis uxor Joscelini Bodelli cognominati' donated land 'ad locum . . . Rocius' to La Trinité de Vendôme for her husband´s burial, with the consent of 'Lancelini de Balgentiaco et Hervei de Lavarzino fratrum suorum'. Seigneur de Baugency. 'Lancelinus miles . . . de Baugenciaco' donated donated 'ecclesiam . . . prope murum castri mei . . . honore Sancti Sepulchri' to La Trinité de Vendôme, for the souls of '. . . filii mei Radulphi', the charter dated [2 Feb/1 Jun] 1079, signed by 'Radulfo filio ipsius Lancellini et sorore eius . . . Herveo fratre ipsius Lancelini de Lavarzino . . .'. Under a charter dated 30 Nov 1092, it is noted that 'Lanscelinus Belvacensis' wrongly claimed property rights over Sainte-Croix d'Orléans and that 'defuncto . . . Lanscelino, Lanscelinus filius eius' repeated the claims. The necrology of Vendôme La Trinité records the death 'XIII Kal Dec' of 'Landricus qui et Lancelinus fundator Sancti Sepulcri de Balgenciaco'. The name of Lancelin's wife is not known."
[56920] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 11 April 2020: "Orland - On Friday, April 3, 2020, David Llewellyn Davis died peacefully in his home in Orland, Maine. He was born November 25,1926, in Auburn, New York, the son of Janet L. Bridgeman and W. Frederick R. Davis of Auburn, New York. Dave spent his childhood and most of his teenage years in the Finger Lakes region of the Empire State. Close to the end of his education at Auburn High School he joined the United States Army. After completing basic training he traveled with his unit to Germany, where he served in the Army of Occupation at the end of the war. Upon returning home, he headed north to Bucksport, Maine, where he took a job at St. Regis Paper Co. Dave had a cousin who lived in Orland next door to Virginia Soper. Dave and Virginia met and were married for over 70 years. They built a house along the banks of Narramissic River in Orland, residing there for the rest of their lives. Dave left the paper mill after 20+ years and went to work for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service in community development, where he worked until retirement. Dave had always been a dirt farmer at heart, and upon retiring he and Ginny started a successful greenhouse business. Open from dawn till dusk in the summer, they ran it until they decided it was time to rest a bit. Resting for Dave was pursuing his love of poetry. He wrote many poems and published 'Ready to Be Surprised,' a collection of his poems. For over 60+ years Dave was active in community organizations, Grange, Masons, church, Orland Historical Society and Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. He was also elected and served several times as an Orland selectman. He was scoutmaster of Troop 102 for 11 years. The boys in his troop, who are now men, still remember the good times they had with Dave -- and life lessons learned. By faith a Quaker, Dave was instrumental in starting a Friends Meeting in Orland. His faith was exemplified in everyday life beside the peaceful Narramissic, where he was a consummate practitioner of patience. Strong, steady and patient, Dave was always ready to lend a helping hand. He touched many lives. He will be missed by all who knew him."
