[51649] https://njscuba.net/shipbuildinghistory/us-comm-small/stonington.html offers: "Stonington ME - Stonington Yacht Basin was started by George, Cecil and Sheridan Billings in 1936. It was active in WWII and continued to build boats after the war. It went bankrupt in the 1960s but was bought and reopened by Sheridan's son Dick. It changed its name to Billings Diesel & Marine, Inc., and continues in business today, although it hasn't built a boat recently. Visit the company at billingsmarine.com. The yard has a spectacular location, on Moose Island, just to the west of Stonington. See it from the air on Google here. Note that there is a similarly named yard, Stonington Boat Works, in Stonington CT: this yard is not that yard." This article then lists the many shjips built in this yard.

[57300] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 13 September 2024: "Milbridge - Vonalee Lernice Tucker Huckins peacefully passed away at her home on September 5, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on February 10, 1936, to Velma Beal Tucker and Charles Tucker of Cherryfield, Maine, Vonalee's life was a testament to love and warmth. She is survived by her beloved sister, Phyllis Dennison of Bradenton, Florida; daughters, Sheila Curtis and husband, Garry Curtis, of Cherryfield, Maine, and Heidi Huckins and partner, Barbara Hildebrandt, of Holden, Maine; her niece, Valerie Nestopoulas of Bradenton, Florida; her nephew, Charlie Corliss and wife, Gayle Corliss, of Cherryfield, Maine; her grandchildren, Cassandra Tenan and husband, Adam Tenan of Eddington, Maine, Brandon DuGay and wife, Alysha DuGay, of Dedham, Maine, and Dustin Hildebrandt and partner, Nicole Gilio, of Bangor, Maine; her great-grandchildren, Julian DuGay and Ford DuGay of Dedham, Maine, Hailey Miles of Bangor, Maine, and Ashton and Kenley Hildebrandt of Bangor, Maine; and a very special friend, Cathy Chipman of Milbridge, Maine. Vonalee was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Eugene Huckins. A loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother (Nana), aunt, and great-grandmother, Vonalee's greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed and special, and her legacy of compassion will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. Her love for animals was profound; she dedicated much of her life to rescuing and caring for numerous cats and dogs, with her cherished cat, Bosie, by her side until the end. Vonalee's home in Milbridge was her sanctuary, but her heart held a special place for her camp on Bo Bear Island. Summers spent across Pigeon Hill Bay at "Whatchagimme" were filled with joy as she played cards, watched the lobster boats, and savored in the salty sea breeze. She eagerly anticipated hosting 'Happy Hours' for friends and enjoying her favorite wine surrounded by loved ones. Her vibrant presence will forever be remembered on Bo Bear Island."
