She was a member of the Amherst - Aurora Congregational Church and was superintendent of its Sunday School for several years. Mrs. Hanscom and late husband managed the city home in Brewer for several years and were foster parents to several of the children in the home. She was a member of the Goodwill Grange in Amherst and the Green Mountain Pomona Grange. Surviving are three sons, A. Raymond of Trenton, S. Dale of Bar Harbor and Walter V. Hanscom of Southwest Harbor; one daughter, Mrs. Jere (Constance) Jellison of Salisbury Cove; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Urban (Ada) Hatch, Salisbury Cove, Mrs. Edward (Kathleen) Palmer, Brunswick; one brother, Levi Bragg Jr., Amherst; one sister, Mrs. Earl Bennoch; one stepbrother, Clyde Murray, Hampden, and one stepsister, Mrs. Robert (Alice) Bailey, Hampden; 22 grandchildren: three great-grand children; several nieces and nephews."
