"The Perry County Times [New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania], 13 September 1923," p. 4: "Jacob Reisinger, veteran of the Civil War and a life long resident of Saville township, died at his late residence Aug. 30, 1923. He was born Dec. 11, 1843, and at his death was aged 80 years, 8 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage to Phebe Ann Shull in May, 1864. Nine children were born to this union, of which six survive him, namely: Milton, of Saville; Mrs. Julia Duffield, of Altoona; Mrs. Eliza Bristo, of Dillsburg; William, of Markelsville; Mrs. Mary Paden and Jacob, of near Ickesburg. An aged sister, Mrs. Jennie Shoemaker, residing at Steelon, also survives. Of his grandchildren there are 42 living, and also 20 great grandchildren. The friendly manner of this man mnde him many friends. The funeral was held on Sept. 2nd at the Saville Lutheran church of which he was a member for over 60 years. The service was very largely attended. Rev. C. F. Gephart, pastor, officiated. Of 262 enlistments from this community into the Civil War, only 7 remain, and only 3 could attend this funeral. Several World War veterans were present."
