He was born in North Brooksville, Jan. 8, 1911, the son of John and Lela (Snow) Howard. Howard was a member of the Orland Masonic Lodge, the Hancock Royal Arch Chapter in Bucksport, St. Johns Commandery in Bangor, and the Pulp and Sulphite Union in Bucksport. He had worked for St. Regis for 34 years. Surviving are his wife, Virginia of Orland; three sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Williamson of Brooksville, Mrs. Laura Ferguson of Centerdale, R. I. and Mrs. Mavis Douglas of Sedgwick; three brothers, Gordon of Lincoln, R. I., Raymond of New Vineyard and Donald of Brooksville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home in Bucksport Thursday at 2 p.m, with the Rev. Roy Pike officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, with masonic committal services." Manley is son of John Patrick Howard (1888-1956) & Lela C.
