The Archbishop "separated Eadwig and Aelfgyfu, because they were too closely related," reports The Anglo-Saxon Chronicles for 957; Edwy had secretly m. his stepmother's daughter. http://www.san.beck.org/AB17-FeudalEurope.html offers: "Eadred had no children and so was succeeded by Edmund's elder son Eadwig, who was about 15 and was assisted by ealdormen from Mercia, Essex, and East Anglia. Eadwig offended the aristocracy at his coronation when Glastonbury abbot Dunstan found him cavorting with a noble woman and her daughter Aelgifu, whom he later married. These women caused King Eadwig to banish Dunstan. In 957 Mercia and Northumbria selected his younger brother Edgar as their king. When Eadwig died two years later, Edgar also became king of Wessex." "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 29 August 1951, p. 11: "Aurora, Aug. 28 - Mrs. Margaret S. Silsby, wife of the late Herbert T. Silsby and mother of William S. Silsby, speaker of the Maine House died today at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness She was born in Beddington Dec. 16, 1869, daughter of William and Lois Schoppee. She had resided at Aurora for 61 years and was a member of the Amherst and Aurora Congregational church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frances Bridges and Mrs. Mary Burrill of Bangor, and Miss Alice Silsby of Aurora; three sons, Dr. Samuel Silsby and Dr. Charles Silsby of Bangor, and William Silsby of Ellsworth; a brother Albert E. Schoppee of Brewer 13 grandchildren ana five great-grandchildren."

"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 12 July 1940," p. 6: "Friends in Bangor have received news of the death of the Rev. Leonard S. Williams which occurred July 1 in Dryden Mills. Mr. Williams was a native of Great Pond and was educated at the Buckport seminary and Bates college. He started his ministry in Lewiston and served many communities in the western part of Maine."
