[38663] "Bangor Daily News, 25 September 2008": "Dale Edmund Wardwell, 67, died Oct. 26, 2007, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 22, 1940, in Castine, the son of Paul W. and Marvis (Howard) Wardwell. Dale served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years during the Vietnam War and Korean War. He was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge, Orland and Anah Shrine. He is survived by a son, Bryan Wardwell of Sedgwick; stepson, Richard Combs of Alton; sister, Thelma Farnham of Vinalhaven; two grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Rebecca McLain; and two infant brothers. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, with a Masonic service after. Interment will be at Rural Cemetery, Sedgwick."
